The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park is officially open! The park opened last week. The day before it opened, Breckenridge Ski Resort was nice enough to allow locals to experience the park for free. It was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down. In fact, we had the honor of experiencing it through the eyes of a child!
Below are our favorite Fun Park activities and why it’s fun for the entire family!
Gold Runner Coaster — Race down the mountain on 2,500 feet of elevated roller coaster track as you enjoy a thrilling journey around and through the forest on Colorado’s only alpine coaster! Ride single or with a friend, managing your own speed through the hairpin curves and twists!
“I really liked how it made you all excited when it went down. It took a long time, too.” Alyssa, 12 years old
“The coaster is so much fun. On the turns, you feel like you are going to fall off. But I always feel safe.” Draven, 13 years old
“I had never tried the roller coaster before. I thought it was going to be lame, but it totally wasn’t.” Jojo, 16 years old
Alpine SuperSlide — Don't miss the famous SuperSlide! Choose from three different 2,600 foot long tracks and speed down the mountain on a variety of dips and banked turns! Ride the slalom courses, or for the more experienced rider, try the giant slalom track with multiple dips. The sleds will seat an adult or small child. Children under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian's signature to participate.
“I really liked it because my sister went with me. It was her first time on it and it was fun seeing her reaction. She screamed in excitement the entire time.” Alyssa, 12 years old
“I really like the slide because you can go as fast as you want. It feels like you are going really fast and it’s cool to be able to control your speed.” Draven, 12 years old
“I really like the alpine slide because it’s scary and you have an adrenaline rush the entire time.” Jojo, 16 years old
Super Putt Minigolf — High Alpine Golf with a view! Come check out what could possibly be the world’s most scenic miniature golf course. Kids and adults alike can take turns aiming for holes-in-one on this family-friendly mini-course.
“Putt putt is really good for smaller kids. It’s a little confusing because there’s not much space.” Alyssa, 12 years old
“I really like the views. If you stand on certain courses, you can see the Alpine Slide as well as the chair lift and the bright blue sky.” Alyssa, 12 years old
Rockpile Climbing Wall — Test your rock climbing agility on our vertical climbing wall with various routes and levels of difficulty. Minimum weight 30 lbs, Maximum weight 250 lbs.
Superbungee Trampoline — Kids and adults alike will flip for this attraction, as you get the chance to bounce and rotate up to 20 feet high in the air on this incredible trampoline experience! Minimum weight 30 lbs, Maximum weight 190 lbs.
“The trampoline is so much fun. I really think they should raise the amount or weight. I don’t think it’s fair to those who want to do it, like my parents.” Alyssa, 12 years old
Colorado SuperChair — Ride to 11,059 ft. on the Colorado SuperChair for easy access to hiking and picturesque views of the Continental Divide.
