The Winter Dew Tour: One Step Closer to the 2014 Winter Olympics

Before moving to Breckenridge, I had the opportunity to really familiarize myself with the winter sports world. A few years back, I worked for FOX31 in Denver as a television news producer. During that time, I developed an interest and started covering winter competitions that were held annually in Colorado, such as the Winter Dew Tour, the Winter X Games and the Grand Prix. Some of the best skiers and snowboarders flock to Colorado every winter to compete in these events. What’s different this year is that both the Winter Dew Tour and the Grand Prix will ultimately decide which snowboard and freeski athletes will represent the United States in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia! Even better, three events that have always been a part of the Colorado competitions were added to the Olympics schedule: Slopestyle Skiing, Slopestyle Snowboarding and Skiing Superpipe. This means that this year’s Winter Dew Tour will be historic. On December 12–15, America’s best athletes will be here in Breckenridge competing for a coveted spot on the Olympic team. Below, I’ve listed the athletes I think will be the American front-runners at this year’s Dew Tour event, therefore making the Olympic team.
