When you’re planning a vacation to Summit County, your radar may not extend far past the ski resorts. But then, there’s Frisco: Locally owned boutiques. Top notch restaurants. A cool local bar scene. A mountain town vibe. Fun events. And, perfectly situated right smack in the middle of the major Summit County ski resorts. Frisco truly has it all. If you haven’t had a chance to explore Frisco yet, here are a few of our favorite reasons to hang out in this sweet town… And why we think you should hang out here, too.
The Food
Every town has it’s bragging rights when it comes to restaurants. So, what makes Frisco unique? Let’s start with breakfast. You’ve got the hipster scene over at Bread + Salt. The local favorite bakery at The Butterhorn. And then you have locally roasted coffee. You could literally eat your way across Main Street all day, starting with breakfast. It gets even better at lunch and for dinner, too. Bagalis, The Lost Cajun, Kemosabe, Silverheels and 5th Ave Grill – just to name a few – offer fresh menus and delightfully local options.
The Fun
Being so close to Lake Dillon, and conveniently situated between the major Summit County ski resorts, Frisco is packed with opportunities to get out and play. Oh, and then there’s the Adventure Center! With an awesome tubing hill and cross country trail system in the winter, the Frisco Adventure Park offers fun for the entire family during the snowy months. And in the summer, it gets even better: boat rentals, paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, fishing, hiking trails, bike rentals, the Rec Path and so much more. And of course, you could always just enjoy a lovely stroll down Main Street, too.
The Family Atmosphere
Come to Frisco for the fun and the food – but stay for the family vibe. The locals here are fabulous, and they’ll make you feel right at home. Become fast friends with shop owners. Get to know the bartender at your favorite watering hole. Sing karaoke. And get involved in community events. Frisco folks know how to have fun – and they’re ready to share that good time with you!
The Fire
Okay, the annual community bonfire, Spontaneous Combustion, is just one of the cool events that happen in Frisco throughout the year. Be sure to check out the full event lineup including Bubble Gum Ski Races for the little ones, the annual Frisco BBQ Challenge, summer concerts, snowshoe and cross country races, and so much more. This is one community that knows how to throw a party!
These are just a few of the reasons we love Frisco. If you’re planning a trip to Summit County, check out some of our Frisco vacation rental properties and be sure to include some of Frisco’s events into your weekend plans. Welcome to Frisco. We think you’re going to like it here.
