Dew Tour Returns to Breckenridge

Dew Tour makes its return to Breckenridge this year December 14-17, bringing with it dozens of skiing and snowboarding’s best athletes for four days of tough competition. This year’s event will serve as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Olympic qualifying event for men’s and women’s halfpipe and slopestyle snowboarding and skiing, upping the ante for all of the competitors as they vie for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. The event also brings with it concerts, art installations, pro-athlete signings, and the always popular POWDER awards and Transworld Snowboarding riders poll awards.

In its 10th year in Breckenridge, Dew Tour remains a local favorite that brings some of the world’s best athletes to our backyard. Athletes will compete in a number of events including superpipe, halfpipe, slopestyle, and the famous streetstyle competition that is set up on Main Street Breckenridge! All competitive events are free to attend with the streetstyle event being one of the most popular, and for good reason! With jumps, jibs, and boxes set up right through the Blue River Plaza in the heart of downtown Breckenridge, this event takes place after dark under the glow of street lights. Big jumps, new tricks, and plenty of rivalry will make this year’s event one to watch.

As an Olympic qualification event Dew Tour will pit the world’s best men and women snowboarders and freeskiers against each other as they compete to represent the United States at the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, February 9-25, 2018. Dew Tour previously served as an Olympic qualifier for freesking and snowboarding in 2014. This year the men’s and women’s slopestyle and halfpipe competitions will be sure to be interesting as the stakes are high and many of the most well-known names in skiing and snowboarding put it all on the line and showcase their best tricks for a chance to join the U.S. skiing or snowboarding team.

In addition to the individual competitions, Dew Tour will feature a new style of competition this year called the Team Challenge. The Team Challenge will include the 12 biggest winter hardgood brands (six ski and six snowboard) to compete in a format that embraces the industry’s community. The hardgood brands will select one team captain and three of their team athletes to compete.

This year’s event will also have a total of 14 hours of coverage that will air on NBC and NBCSN, bringing the event to living rooms across the U.S. The event will also be live streamed in its entirety on DewTour.com. More details will be revealed about this exciting event in the coming weeks, including who will be performing at the Dew Tour Concert, so check their website DewTour.com for updates as well as the event schedule and ticket availability.
