“Best of Summit County”: What It Means to Us

Every year, the Summit Daily News, our local newspaper, sponsors a "Best of Summit" contest for local businesses. And — thanks to our local community, our property owner and guests — Summit Mountain Rentals has been honored to win "Best of Summit" in the property management category ten years running.

So, what does this mean for our business?

Well, I have to admit that the “bragging rights” are fun. And from a marketing standpoint, the award carries a lot of prestige. It helps us build trust with potential property owner and renters on our website, in our printed marketing materials and other areas. It’s something that truly sets SMR apart.

But as the owner of Summit Mountain Rentals, I can speak on behalf of all our employees in saying that this award means much, much more to us. It’s an honor that we take very seriously. It’s also validation that we’re delivering on our stated mission:

"To deliver the highest level of satisfaction to our property owners and vacation guests.”

It may sound corny, but the team at Summit Mountain Rentals is truly a family. And, we care about our owners, guests and our Summit County community — and we treat them like family, too.

For our property owners, the award means that they know they can count on us for the help and answers they need. It also means that they know that not only will we rent their mountain homes for the highest possible rental income — we’ll also take the best possible care of their property as well.

For our guests, the award means that they know they can not only count on us to provide the best vacation rentals in Summit County. They also that they have a “local friend in the mountains.” You know: the type of friend they can count on for advice on the best restaurants, the best ski runs, the best hikes in the summer and more.

And for our local Summit County community, the award means that we’ve earned their trust as a part of the community. And, we say “thank you” for their trust by giving back to the community as sponsors of the the Breckenridge Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Annual Snow Sculpting Contest. More recently, my wife Mary and I established the Summit Mountain Rentals Foundation, through which SMR and its property owners have contributed more than $40,000 to important Summit County causes to date.

To all of our friends that have helped us win this award the past ten years, we are grateful.
