After a long, cold winter in the mountains we all look forward to warmer days with plenty of sunshine and drinks with friends on one of the many great local patios. Depending on the mood you can find patios with great outdoor games, great people watching or great views. Make sure you don’t forget the sunglasses when you’re checking one of the great patios listed below!
Kenosha is one of our favorite patios for great views and even better outdoor games. The vibe is laid back and great for kids. You can throw some horseshoes or play cornhole while taking in the excellent views of Breckenridge Ski Resort! Their barbeque is some of the best in the county too!
Rocky Mountain Underground Tavern, called RMU by the locals, is a great bar with great beers on tap and even better signature cocktails that are perfect for a hot summer day. This is the best patio in Breckenridge for people watching as they have a patio that overlooks Main Street. They also have a back area where they have great outdoor concerts. And this bar is dog friendly so bring Fido along for the fun! Rocky Mountain Underground also is a local ski maker so you can check out their ski lineup while you enjoy your drink and you can even see where they make custom skis right in the shop.
Angel’s Hollow is the premier patio if you’re looking for incredible views. This funky New Mexican style restaurant has excellent margaritas and a great food menu. The patio is set above the buildings of downtown, so you get views of the entire Ten Mile Mountain Range. This is the local’s hangout restaurant for excellent Mexican food and a great atmosphere.
Outer Range Brewing in Frisco is one of the hottest breweries in Summit County if not the state. Their unfiltered IPAs are the stuff of legend and their patio has plenty of seating and is dog friendly! Pro tip: go next door to the Rio Grande Mexican restaurant to grab some chips and salsa or a burrito to go and eat while you enjoy your brew. This is another dog friendly place so bring your furry friend along!
The Island Grill has one of the best patios in Frisco as it overlooks Dillon Reservoir. It’s located right next to the Frisco Bay Marina so you can go take a bike ride around the lake on the paved trail system or rent a stand up paddle board before you stop in for a bite to eat and a drink while taking in the views of the lake!
